Word of the week
Ephesians 1:6 KJV says, ‘To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.’
God is telling someone today that you are valued, you are loved, you are accepted by God.
Sometimes we use our circumstances to judge our worth, our value etc.
That is not an accurate assessment of anyone’s value.
Derive your worth from God. Are you a child of God? Are you born again? Is Jesus your Lord and Saviour? Then you are loved, you are accepted, you are valued.

Message of the week
For some weeks now, we have been talking about being kind.
It is unfortunate though that sometimes in life you have to be kind from afar.
In 2 Samuel 10, David the king of Israel and his hosts fought a battle that came about because of kindness.
I’m glad I saw these Scriptures years ago, otherwise I would not have believed that someone could actually be in a war because of a kind act.
David was friends with a man called Nahash. Nahash died and David sent his men to offer condolences to Hanun, the son of Nahash.
Hanun misinterpreted the kind gesture of David and the sequence of events that happened caused David and his men to engage in a battle to defend themselves and their country.
It is possible to be a victim of kindness, unless God helps you. As a matter of fact, there is an adage that says, ‘No good deed goes unpunished.’ So, a good deed can be punished. What this means is that acts of kindness can backfire.
I truly wish I could say otherwise but personally I have had some of my good deeds punished in the past.
Sometimes to be kind, you have to tread carefully.
In this Bible passage, David’s act of kindness DID backfire and a full-scale war ensued through no fault of his own. Fortunately, God delivered David and his men and did not allow them to be victims of kindness.
Be careful when you are being kind.
It is good to be kind. But in being kind, be wise. Don’t bring a snake into your home, nurture it and expect kindness from it later. A snake is programmed to bite, poison and possibly kill.
One of the best ways to be careful when you are being kind is to be led by the Spirit of God.
Romans 8:14 says, ‘For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God’.
I pray that you will never be a victim of kindness in Jesus Name.
And if you have ever been a victim of kindness, forgive, move on and continue to be kind anyway.
