Word of the week
Years ago, I was driving in Ibadan, a city in Nigeria and I was stuck in traffic. In the next lane to me was a commercial bus and there was a bus conductor sitting in the car with the passengers. As I looked at the bus conductor, the Lord ministered this Scripture to me in the KJV, ‘But by the grace of God I am what I am.’
The Lord spoke to me that it is His grace that distinguishes one person from another. The Lord further said that but for the grace of God, anyone could be in an unfortunate situation or another.
Therefore, I want to encourage you today not to boast or feel big about yourself because of your achievements or position.
When you boast, you make others feel inadequate. When people feel inadequate, they also feel condemned.
You are nothing without the grace of God.
Avoid boasting.
I pray that you have a good week.
God bless you.
Message of the week
John 14:6 NLT says, ‘Jesus told him (that is his disciple Thomas), ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.’
The truth makes you vulnerable. By saying the truth, you are taking a risk of being despised or losing the respect of people.
But I tell you something. It is only ignorant people that despises you for saying the truth. Knowledgeable people respect you for daring to say the truth.
Anyone that says the truth must be respected for opening up themselves to the possibility of being ridiculed or despised.
A few years ago, I met up with a friend of mine who told me the truth about her life. She didn’t hide some things she did wrong. She laid her cards on the table and made me to know her. Till today I respect her for the courage to be vulnerable and I count her as one of my dear friends, simply because I saw the truth in her.
Say the truth.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
The way, the truth and the life are linked.
If you don’t say the truth, you won’t see the way and you may not experience the life of God.
The truth delivers, the truth makes free.
I pray that you have a good week. God bless you.
