Week 31-2022- Word and Message of The Week

Word of the week

The Lord is on my side

Psalm 118:6

“The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

There was a time Saul was in relentless pursuit of David. 1 Samuel 26:13 captures a particular scene in that pursuit

“Now David went over to the other side, and stood on the top of a hill afar off, a great distance being between them.”

No matter who or what is pursuing you, you must always picture yourself higher than them. Because if you are a true child of God, God has set you far above principalities and powers and every name that is named both in this world and the world to come

David was on one side, Saul his arch enemy was on another side and a great distance was between them.

And to crown it all, God was on the side of David and GOD was against Saul.

God is on our side. He will watch over us and keep us from harm.

One of the conditions for God to be on your side is for your to be with him.

2 Chronicles 15:2 says the Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, you will find Him. If you forsake Him, He will forsake you.

Saul was the reigning king, who was pursuing David to kill him.

God took away the ability that Saul had to kill David.

Saul had the power of incumbency.

He was strong but he was not as strong as God.

Your enemies are not stronger than God.

God is on your side.

God is on my side.

We shall continually be victorious in Jesus Name

Message of the week

Count your reputation as nothing

Daniel 4:35 NKJV

“All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven And among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand Or say to Him, “What have You done?””

Many of the quarrels we get into is because of our reputation.

By all means do your best to have a good name because the Bible says a good name is preferable to great riches

But understand that despite your efforts to have a good name, there are people that are ever ready to scandalise you.

In the first RCCG parish my husband pastored way back in 1997, some of the women there said I was using the Good women purse to kit myself with clothes and shoes

I did not have access to the account they were talking about, so how could I have used it to buy anything?

When you hold your reputation tight you will be offended at every little thing

Nebuchadnezzar was a very proud man, who attributed his successes in life to himself. But by the time he finished his sabbatical in the forest, he confessed that God was indeed the Source of all successes. He also said that all the inhabitants of the world are reputed as nothing.

So, this means that the entire world has no reputation. So, why are you fighting for your own?

When I heard the accusations levelled against me that time in 1997, I just kept my peace with the help of God

The Bible also says Jesus made Himself of no reputation despite being equal with God.

The people that God lifts up in life are those that count their reputation as nothing.

When Nebuchadnezzar realised how inconsequential he was, he was restored to his throne with excellent honour and majesty added unto him

The Name of Jesus is exceedingly powerful today in all realms because he made himself of no reputation

You may be going through a challenge now when people are saying false things about you.

You want to give your own version of what happened

Can I tell you something?

Don’t bother yourself

The people that dislike you will not care what you have to say. They will still believe your detractors

The people that love you already believe in you without you saying anything

Leave your reputation in God’s hands and He will continue to lift you higher and fight your battles in Jesus Name
