Week 05-2022- Word and Message of The Week

Word of the week

Your worth

Jeremiah 9:23-24 NKJV

“Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.”

How do you determine your worth?

Think through your answer carefully.

Do you determine your worth by your family achievements?

Do you determine your worth by your work achievements?

Do you determine your worth by your Facebook friends?

Do you determine your worth by your Instagram followers?

Do you determine your worth by the house you live in, the car you drive and your bank balance?

I want to advise you not to determine your worth by any thing, any situation, and any person.

These are not the correct indicators of your worth.

I asked earlier if you determine your worth by your Facebook friends?

A few years ago, I had a situation on my hands.

The people I reached out to for prayers were not on Facebook at all.

There was a lady in the UK who committed suicide because of a challenging situation she was going through. Very sad story indeed.

But guess what? This lady had 2 million followers on Instagram.

2 million followers and yet none of them could help her.

Determine your worth NOW.

If you know the Lord, your worth is in God.

When you know your worth, you won’t be swayed to and fro by the challenges of life.

This year, make knowing God your priority.

Let your priority be to understand God and His nature.

I pray that you have a happy, great and prosperous week.

God bless you. Amen.

Message of the week

IT WILL HAPPEN

Our biblical reference is actually Genesis 28:10-17 but because of time I will read verses 10-11.

Genesis 28:10-11 KJV says

“And Jacob went out from Beer-sheba, and went toward Haran. And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.”

Jacob laid down with stones for pillows.

When I read this, I felt sad. So many people are lying down in life with stones for pillows.

When you lie down with stones for pillows, it could mean some of the following:

  1. You are in difficult place in life where your future is uncertain
  2. You are on a journey. And all of life is a journey
  3. You are in an unpleasant transit situation

Despite the unpleasant situation Jacob was in, God showed him a dream of a ladder whose bottom was on earth and the top of the ladder was in heaven and the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

What a beautiful revelation!

On top of that, God now made some great promises to Jacob which He fulfilled.

What can we learn from these?

  1. Don’t use the difficult place where you may be now to conclude that God is not with you. Sometimes you look at the progress of your siblings and your friends and you conclude that God has forgotten you. That is not true.
  2. The second thing you can learn is God speaks to His people even in times of difficulty and what He speaks to you, He will bring to pass for you.

I pray that you have a good week.

God bless you
