Word of the week
Work it out!
Philippians 2:12b-13 GNT
Keep on working with fear and trembling to complete your salvation, because God is always at work in you to make you willing and able to obey his own purpose.
Nothing in life happens by default
One of Newtons law of motion says that every object will remain in a state of rest or inertia until something moves it
Your children will not turn out right by default. You have to work it
Your marriage will not turn out right by default, you have to work it
But are you really the one working it?
The next verse to the Scriptures we read says it is God that works in you…
This will let you know it’s not by your effort.
What God does is to take the little effort you make and He magnifies it
If you are wise and discerning you will see that God just magnified your little effort
But you must still make that effort no matter how little
So, I was thinking that the salvation we received is free. So why are we meant to work it out with fear and trembling?
Anything you don’t work out will slip from your hands
You can’t eat everything you like and not work out and expect your health to be perfect
If you don’t create time to be with your children, then don’t expect them to be close to you
What about marriage, your career, relationships etc? They all have to be worked out consistently
Working it out involves praying, patience, effort
At this point, you may be thinking it’s too late for you in some areas of your life
The beauty about God is that it can never be too late for you as long as you hear what He is saying to you today and run with it.
So, in any area where we have failed to work it in the past, let us start working it today.
God will show us mercy and it will never be too late for us in Jesus Name
Message of the week
A gradual shift
1 Corinthians 10:12 NLT
“If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall.”
This word is addressed to Christians
The enemy will be after you all your life to shift grounds
Take a righteous stand in Christ and stand by it.
The Bible says to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling
You can’t work out someone’s salvation
You can only work out yours
In what ways are you gradually shifting from your righteous stand
If you are sensitive God will tell you
If you don’t listen you will keep shifting further and further until you no longer recognise yourself
Don’t permit that gradual shift.
Stay on the righteous side.
Have a good week
God bless you
