Word of the week
God is the Helper of the weak, God is the Helper of the rejected. He does not despise your helplessness. Human beings can despise helplessness. Some may even look at you as if you are a loser, but God never looks down at you or despises you for needing help.
God says in Psalm 22:24 NLT, ‘For He has not ignored or belittled the suffering of the needy. He has not turned His back on them but has listened to their cries for help
I want to encourage you that in every area of life and especially areas where you are feeling helpless, cry unto God Who is never helpless. He will send help to you.

Message of the week
We spoke in Be kind Part 2 of how in the genealogy of the Lord Jesus Christ, there were only two women recorded among several men and we were curious about the reasons for their inclusion in the genealogy of Jesus. The two women are Ruth and Rahab. We have already spoken about Ruth.
Today we will also give a condensed account about Rahab. You will find a detailed account of Rahab in Joshua 2.
Like Ruth, Rahab forsook her homeland Jericho to follow the people of God to their homeland.
Like Ruth, Rahab was also a kind person. She was a prostitute. We don’t know the circumstances that led her to prostitution. You would have thought maybe Rahab was an orphan in unfortunate circumstances that had turned to prostitution.
But no, she wasn’t. She had parents, siblings, family.
Why then was Rahab in a position that she had to sell her body for a livelihood?
I don’t have the answer. What I do know is that despite the degradation of her profession, Rahab retained an essential kindness by looking out for the welfare of her parents, siblings and family when she knew that Jericho was going to be destroyed.
It pays to be kind.
